Everything was fresh, customer service was great(first time having these dishes and they talked us through them) and we keep coming back now!
I got a seamoss drink that was really refreshing. Also got curry shrimp, that was so fire. Buss up Roti was fresh, and nicely made. I did also ordered a curry chicken and was so hungry I forgot to take a photo of that. The curry chicken was wildly salty unfortunately, but otherwise the flavors was there. 1 star off for salt factor. Pro-tip get that tamarin sauce it's so sweet and delicious and added a nice element to offset the salt factor. I would try more things from here...Service was prompt
Sometimes you just want a tasty Trini Sunday late lunch. Stopped through today. We delighted in the Curry Chicken Roti (add Tamarind sauce. Curry Chicken with Buss Up Shot (nice and buttery). Doubles with Tamarind sauce. Oxtail dinner with callaloo and potato salad. The Passionate and Sorrel drinks are refreshing. Great portions and reasonable prices. Only takeout, no seating. The line may be long, but they get you in and out pretty quickly.
Portions are amazing, as is service and atmosphere/ambiance. Know what you want before you get on line. The homemade drinks are good as well.
I was feeling for a beef roti for the longest time. I knew the only place that would get it right (from experience ordering from other restaurants) is Bake and Things on Flatbush Ave. The roti did not disappoint. I couldn't help but get some other stuff. Everything was delicious, and very reasonably-priced. The food was great, and the service was superb. They really made me feel like I was back home in Trinidad. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Everything about this store is perfect. The place is always very clean, the staff is great, and the food is delicious. If you're in the mood for Trinidadian food, this is the place to go.
Great food, great service too!!!! I loved the fritters, the doubles and the roti, chicken and shrimp
Trinbago food at its best in Brooklyn. I pass by anytime I am in Brooklyn. I recommend highly.
Caribbean spots can be so terrifying sometimes. I feel that each time i walk into a spot I've never tried before. Today, bake and things was that spot. I wanted something delicious, cheap and filling. I also didn't want meat. So i chose a double today. Added Channa (curried chickpeas) tamarind sauce and a little pepper sauce, and it's sooo good. I remember one of my best friends got me one of these last summer and it was so good. I decided to try and order it on my own today, and i did pretty good lol. It's normally pretty busy in there, but today, it was empty. Which worked for me because i didn't want to be rushed to order lol. The lady was sweet and nice and it came out to $2.50. Can't beat that. See pics below.
Bake & Things located on Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, New York has the BEST mac & cheese complimented with a covering of their delectable (entree) gravy! When a side of mac & cheese is ordered, it is ALWAYS covered with curry gravy, stew gravy, OR any other gravy tickling my fancy that particular day. The "Mac and Cheese" is perfectly made every single time without fail having a succulent cheesy fill by sight and taste. Pricing continues to be reasonable with excellent customer service to boot. Unfortunately, Bake & Things' pholourie was not how pholourie usually tastes. Their pholourie was similar to eating bread with no leavening agent, hard in texture, dark in color, heavy to the touch, and a thick consistency taste. A "4 star" overall rating was for Bake & Things' GREAT mac & cheese!
